The HOT Plan: Ten HOT Tips for Success

The possibility that I would become a teacher was remote.

My name is Harvey R. Dean, and as a non-traditional learner, school was often frustrating for me. Had it not been for a dedicated shop teacher who took me under his wing, it’s likely that I might have become a high school dropout.

One of life’s little ironies is that I now hold a doctorate in education and am co-founder and CEO of the leading provider of STEM education products in the US, Pitsco Education. Today, Pitsco’s innovative educational products and curriculum are shipped to 53 different countries and all 50 United States.

But there was a time when all of this could have been lost. There was a time when, as a young entrepreneur, failure seemed to be staring me in the face. It was the worst of times, and yet…

I can see now that it was when things started to go wrong that I began to see how they might go right.

As we took steps to ‘get things right’, ideas about empowering our employees to reach their full potential multiplied. Soon the ideas led to a system that paved the way for the metamorphosis and exponential success of our company. Those ideas are the basis of this blog and also my newly released book, The HOT Plan™.

Some posts in this blog may challenge traditional business practices and provide a new perspective on leadership. Others will offer suggestions or give step-by-step tips on how to create a great workplace using practical tools from The HOT Plan™.

As a company or organization, reaching your maximum potential begins with fully engaging the talent and creativity of your workforce, because success for any company begins and continues with helping its people succeed. And that is what The HOT Plan™ is all about. Looking forward to the journey!
